Flaming Rainbow Time!

This is a bit late, but I made an outfit and took it out for a spin. At Club Push there was an event and I went to it. It was to support my friend Veronica. Well, technically it wasn't just for her. It was to support her and another to go to the finals of a Miss contest. I actually don't remember all the details (I've got a  lot on my mind!) and I may get them wrong if I try to say them, so I'm not going to try. The out fit was composed of three parts, or at least three parts that I made (4 if you count the earrings).

The first part I'll talk about, because it was the least stressful, is the collar. Not the top of a shirt, for those that don't know, but the short necklace that hugs the neck. I'm going to sell the basic one for... let's make it $5. I say basic since I will add things to it for a price. The money from these will actually go to the Renaissance and Fantasy Fair of the Ozarks. The theme of it matches the theme of the fair. Dragons and Phoenix. Cool, right? I say match and by that I mean the material. It is made of flames! lol. Yes and no, really. Not real flames, but the semblance of them. The background of the fabric is black and the flames are a shimmering rainbow. Someone told me the outfit should be called Flaming Rainbow. So I might just do that! lol. The Flaming Rainbow cooler was made of the same material as the Flaming Rainbow Tube Top (Ha!)
The Tube Top is made in two different materials, which can make it more or less expensive depending on the material of the second part. All I did was take 3 measurements to make the pattern. The top (just above the breast), the bottom (or the widest part of it), and the length (from top to bottom). I split the measurement for top and bottom in half and added 2" (seams) for a pattern for the front and back. The Jacket was made of completely different material.

The Jacket is really in two parts. The main body of it was another jacket with itty-bitty sleeves that might as well have not existed. Those annoy me (I don't know why, they just do). It's a beautiful color, though; so I started rummaging through my alter bin and saw a beautiful skirt that I will never wear. I like skirts that go to the floor if I wear them or are up by my knees. This was at a point just above my ankles, if I am remembering it correctly, anyway. So, since I would never wear it, and didn't think I'd do anything else with it anytime soon, I disassembled it. There was only two panels, which made taking it apart rather easy. I laid them out and made sure they were the same (they weren't so I had to make them the same first). Then I stay-stitched them at the arm holes and hemmed everything when it was the way I wanted it.

The entire outfit was really a test to see what I could do. The Jacket was to prove that I could take something that was dis-satisfactory and make it something that one would be proud to wear outside. What about all of you? Would you wear it?

P.S. I don't have any batteries for my camera so I have to wait to put links to more photos of it.

Computer crash! and other stuff...

I feel like I've been asleep the past couple of weeks. What woke me up was my computer doing a nose dive. Sorry about lazing about.

Okay!
Well, my last couple of weeks have been interesting. I'm dating a really terrific guy that...I won't go into it 'cause that might be a little too personal for some people to read about on a blog.
Anyway, I've been sort of weird with the weather acting all crazy and everything. At least it has around here. So I've been having to play catch up.
I've been making a set of belly dancing costumes for me and... I'll just call her Vixen Dodgers. Since that is a person joke (sort of) I won't explain that. I'll call her that 'till we get our permanent dancer names anyway. I have finished my costume and I'm finishing the last touches on hers. Well, technically the next to last touches, since I still have to put the beading on hers. I did think of putting up pics, but I haven't decided if everyone actually deserves it or not.

The other thing that I've been busy with is making platform boots. That's kind of complicated to explain, but if anyone wants to really know they can send me an email about it. It takes a long time to make. Or maybe it's just cause I'm a perfectionist and I'm doing a complicated set. *shrugs* Oh, well. I'm also doing a pair of wrap-around steampunk sandals while I'm at it. (crosses fingers) Lets hope it turns out!

Okay. Since that is all for the project realm rights now. Yeah. I'll explain why. I was going to be really strict about make a certain amount each and every week without fail and making this strict schedule for myself, but there is zero motive to actually do it. No one is listening (reading) this really and no one is buying anything. Since I am basically shouting out to empty space, I don't really see the point of keeping up with it.

I have thought of making this a sort of journal about personal life as well as my crafting life. That way I'll get into the habit of actually making these entries for when people are actually reading these. *shrugs* I'll have to think about that one. I mean, even if no one reads these now doesn't mean they won't get read. After all. This will stay on here unless I delete it, and even then it's probably going to be saved somewhere.

What do you think? Is there anyone with any sort of opinion that is reading this?

So borrriiing.....

I don't really know what to do. Sorry, that's a lie. I know what I need to be doing, it's just really hard when there's no one to talk to while you are doing it. *sigh* I know, I know. I'm lazy. *shrugs* It's just who I am. Live. With. It.

Lol. Anyway. I am now a foster home for cats. I am apart of the feline friends which can be found on facebook. the cute kitty that I am fostering right now is Millie. She is a 2 year old an love to be petted. A lot...
The only toy that she has played with is a piece of string. So whoever adopts her? Don't bother with too expensive toys. All she needs is a hand to pet her and some string to chase across the ground. She is so cute! *squeals*

Right now my jewelry project is to see how good a spider web necklace I can make.
Any other ideas?

Plans and Plots

Well. Actually that about sums up my entire existance. lol.

Kidding! My computer was down for a while. If had been down much longer I would have put it down! My brother (B) fixed it for me and now I'm back. I've got the prices up on my facebook (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home) and now is the waiting to see if anyone notices. *sigh* waaiiiiting...

Anyway. I also have a few designs that are coming soon. I have to work out the details, but the look awesome in my head. Hopefully they look that awesome in reality so then you will be able to see how awesome, not to mention weird, my imagination is..

I also have a plot going with a friend (R) that will be awesome. We are planing to put together a belly dancing team. We need to practice and get our moves and equipment together, but it Will look awesome.

Let's see. What were my plans to do? Oh, yeah.. I have to MAKE STUFF! lol. I also need to plan out the patterns for costumes.

Wish me luck!

Setting up

Okay.
Well, this is definitely not one of my better weeks. I've been sleeping way too much, and I'm way off track with what I'm supposed to be doing. At least I did some of what I'm supposed to be doing. I set up my PayPal account and linking it with my website. Now I just need to link my blog with my facebook and website. Then I need to price everything (already got pics up, yeah) and describe the things I'm selling. I still need to clean my room... yeah, we'll see with that one. I need to get going with make business cards and doing research and making yet more jewelry. (sigh) Well, that should be enough to start with my day.

I wonder how I'll ever get this done. I really don't like using the internet, but these day you have to to sell anything. Which is why I started this blog. Maybe doing this will help me to stay on track and help me get used to being online this much.

The Jewelry Project of the day was trapped smoke. Yeah, I know. Either you rolled your eyes or the got as big as plates. I loved the idea. I thought 'How cool would it be to wear smoke around your neck?' Right? Well, I did succeed in trapping it. Okay. So what went wrong? Apparently smoke starts to turn clear (or rather to light to appreciate) in about 10 minutes. I'm not going to give up, though! I'm just going to wait, since it's making the house smell like smoke. It's too windy to do this outside so I'm stuck trying it in the kitchen. Oh, well. I knew that mixing science with Jewelry design would be hard. It will just take a little longer to do it than I was hoping.

I wonder what my next Jewelry Project should be?        Will it turn out to be a big success or a humongous Failure?
